Community Outreach and Service

Publication of monthly online e-letter has continued.
- Featured sites in this period have been:
  - Site highlight: Florida Institute of Technology
  - University of Missouri-Columbia
- Initiated a new series that will highlight specific data streams detailing the contents of each stream and its history. Two have been highlighted so far:
  - UNIWISC
  - The National Lightning Detection Network (NLDN)
  - The United States Precision Lightning Network (USPLN)
  - Fleet Numerical Meteorology and Oceanography Center FNMOC

- Unidata seminars are webcast live, and archived for future viewing by community members.

Data Access and Distribution

IDD
- Maintain topology, fill new requests
- Monitor status
- Monitor 3rd party feeds (FNMOC, GEM, MADIS, NLDN, USPLN)
  - collaborated with FNMOC to provide COMAP and NOGAPS data flow again
Support
- Answer IDD, datatstream, miscellaneous, and assorted other support requests
Data
- Maintain data pages
- Meeting with COSMIC to provide easier data delivery of COSMIC data to the Unidata community
Community
- E&O: presentation to 2nd grade class at Heatherwood Elementary School
- Web pages maintenance
- PV2 and related activities

Miscellaneous

Meetings
- Coordinated and participated in a meeting during AMS with NWS and NCEP staff members regarding AWIPS-II and NAWIPS transitition to AWIPS-II
- Planning and coordination continues for the Unidata summer workshop with the Users Committee
- Co-chair, Board of Enterprise Communication Planning Committee for the AMS summer community meeting, 10-12 August 2009 in Norman, OK at the National Weather Center. The theme of the meeting is based on the BASC report, "Observing Weather from the Ground Up - A National Network of Networks."
