Casestudies 19-39 are now available in netCDF as well as the standard GRIB, GEMPAK, NIDS, and MCIDAS formats. Future cases will continue to be made available in netCDF as well as the existing formats.
Case 25 began the implementation of ACARS data in to the datasets, with decoding available on-the-fly from netCDF to GEMPAK.
All casestudy events after May 1999 (the beginning of the JOSS archive) will eventually include ACARS data.
COMET Case Study Library has been reactive to significant weather events and modified publishing schedule to address these data demands. The latest example being Tropical Storm Allison of 05-06 Jume 2001, to be released at the end of October.
We continue to investigate including NOGAPS model output from FNMOC and GEM model output from Environment Canada to future casestudies.
Results of the COMET Case Study survey have been tabulated and some of the results include:

In response to the demand for the cases to be delivered via CD, we will begin offering CD's as a media choice in the near future.
The upcoming year will offer some changes to the case study project. COMET plans to release only 6 case in 2002, instead of the 12 we released in 2001. The benefit of this change is that the cases will be more enriched. This will be in the form of higher resolution datasets, increased exercise materials, the inclusion of enhanced graphics and metadata for ease of training and education, and the implementation of the Warning Event Simulator (Displaced Real-Time Environment) for the AWIPS versions of the cases.
We continue to explore other delivery systems than CODIAC such as MEL and other data delivery servers and digital collections to successfully include the case study project within current digital library initiatives.
