CAVE logs are written to '$HOME/caveData/logs/consoleLogs/$HOSTNAME'. If you want to see messages on the terminal as they happen, you will need to modify the Unidata /awips2/cave/cave.sh to add a "-noredirect" option to the run.sh line (or add $* so you can add options each time you run cave.sh) The behavior you describe sounds like a problem comminucating with the EDEX but the contents of the console logs will be important to to debug this. First thing to check: are the hostnames or IP addresses in your EDEX server's '/awips2/edex/bin/setup.env' also valid for your cave workstation, i.e.: export BROKER_ADDR export PYPIES_SERVER export HTTP_SERVER export JMS_SERVER Whatever hostname/ip you use for these variables must resolve correctly on both machines and be able to connect to the specified ports (i.e. 5672, 9581, 9582). Either change setup.env and restart edex or add that hostname to the CAVE machine's /etc/hosts. -- Erik Magnuson, ENSCO Inc. ________________________________ The information contained in this email message is intended only for the use of the individual(s) to whom it is addressed and may contain information that is privileged and sensitive.
