All,
Wanted to let you all know that data available from the NOAA AI GFS versions
are now available on the UW-AOS THREDDS server. These include - AIGFS -
deterministic run of the AI GFS, AIGEFS - 31 member ensemble of the AIGFS) and
the Hybrid-GEFS (HGEFS) - an ensemble that includes both the physics based and
AI ensemble runs)
The data can be accessed here -
https://thredds.aos.wisc.edu/thredds/catalog/idd/forecastModels.html
>From a little poking around, it appears that the AIGFS has a similar product
>catalog to the normal 0.25 deg GFS data.
The AIGEFS and HGEFS appear to have ensemble averages and standard deviation
values for most data - the standard deviation is for some reason labeled as
(Maximum) instead of Standard Deviation depending on the label that you look
at. For example, from the HGEFS run, for Sea Level Pressure, there are two
variables:
The ensemble average -
Pressure_reduced_to_MSL_msl_unweightedMean
long name: Pressure reduced to MSL (Average) @ Mean sea level
and the standard deviation
Pressure_reduced_to_MSL_msl_stdDev
long name: Pressure reduced to MSL (Maximum) @ Mean sea level
Happy Holidays, all!
