displaying archived QSCAT data in gpmap

Hi all,
I'm trying to plot archived QuikSCAT wind barbs in gpmap but I'm unable to get the data to display. I copied the datatype.tbl file to my local directory and altered the path to the QuikSCAT data but I'm still not having any luck. 

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
