Hi Chris. Did you follow the installation notes at: http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/software/gempak/GEMPAK/Install_GEMPAK.html You did not mention your system information. Try including the output from the command uname -a To get grib files you can use pavuk to get the various GEM regional and global products in grib files from MSC's website: http://weatheroffice.ec.gc.ca/grib/Low-resolution_GRIB_e.htmlIt is better than wget, and can then inject each file into the ldm queue for decoding with the GEMPAK decoders. GEMPAK is not a program, rather a package of many items including tables, libraries, and applications which in the hands of a knowledgeable person is very powerful.

I've tried running the NAgrib decode on the data, however I ended up getting a "segmentation fault" error. What are tables? If anyone has a GEMPAK for dummies guide out there it would be greatly appreciated if they could send it to me. It also appears that the nmap2 program can only load in 16 frames, which is only 48 hours for a 3 hour time step. Is it possible to go beyond 48 hours without having to reload the data?
