Rob, The most likely cause of corrupt output files that comes to mind would be if you ended up with multiple copies of the script simultaneously so that more than 1 copy of the decoder was writing to the file at a time. Your script creates a unique working directory for each invocation, but the output files would be the same if whatever mechanism you are using to invoke the script were to overlap.
