Hi Brian, Did you also try compiling with g77? We had the same problems with GEMPAK 5.11.4 on redhat 64-bit system using gfortran. After compiling with g77 this error was gone. One minor problem I ran into when compiling with g77 was the following: GEMPAK 5.11.4 was already installed on the server using gfortran. Whenever I logged in, my .bash_profile would source $NAWIPS/Gemenviron.profile so that all GEMPAK environmental variables would be set. This ended up setting "USE_GFORTRAN=1". When trying to compile with g77, "USE_GFORTRAN=1" overrode "USE_G77=1". It took a few tries before realizing this. After commenting out my .bash_profile, GEMPAK 5.11.4 compiled properly using g77. I'm experiencing problems trying to display model data. I searched gembud and found someone else who had a similar problem...but no response on how to fix it. If anyone has any insight on how to correct this.please let me know. THANKS! I was able to compile gempak 5.11.4 on my fedora 12 64-bit system using gfortran. I downloaded 12z gfshd from ncep and decoded via script. I ran gdinfo and the data is there.
