Are we any closer to this? Since NAWIPS is supposedly an open project, is there any reason we can't get the files direct from NCEP if there will always be such a long delay between their release and Unidata's? Would be easier and better for all if the community put in the changes needed instead of tying up Unidata resources? === From: Michael James Date: Thu, 10 Jun 2010 13:18:13 -0600 Rob and GEMPAK Users: Unidata is planning to release GEMPAK 6.0/6.1 this summer. GEMPAK 5.11.4 is the current release and is available at http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/software/gempak/ Some minor code updates and bug fixes for 5.11.4 are currently underway, with plans to roll the 6.0/6.1 NCEP updates into Unidata's GEMPAK package soon after. FYI the NCEP release notes for 6.0 and 6.1 can be found at http://www.nco.ncep.noaa.gov/sib/nawips/ - 6.1 is described as a "minor release with bug fixes, table updates and one main modification which are outlined below."
