Hi Brian,I finally had a chance to set up a (32 bit) Fedora 15 system, and noted the same problems you did. I had already tried the trick of building openmotif from source.
Fedora 15 is using the GCC compilers version 4.6.0. I built the 4.5.1 version of GCC (the same one that Fedora 14 uses), and was able to load nmap2 and garp. So, at the very least, this points to some incompatibility that has arose with the evolution of the GCC compiler suite.
I think I'll try building the very latest GCC (4.6.1) to see if the problem exists in that version.
