Hi Brian,I finally had a chance to set up a (32 bit) Fedora 15 system, and noted the same problems you did. I had already tried the trick of building openmotif from source.
Fedora 15 is using the GCC compilers version 4.6.0. I built the 4.5.1 version of GCC (the same one that Fedora 14 uses), and was able to load nmap2 and garp. So, at the very least, this points to some incompatibility that has arose with the evolution of the GCC compiler suite.
I think I'll try building the very latest GCC (4.6.1) to see if the problem exists in that version.
Has anyone else had a chance to play with GEMPAK6.2 on Fedora 15? --Kevin ______________________________________________________________________ Kevin Tyle, Systems Administrator ********************** Dept. of Atmospheric & Environmental Sciences ktyle@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx University at Albany, ES-235 518-442-4578 (voice) 1400 Washington Avenue 518-442-5825 (fax) Albany, NY 12222 ********************** ______________________________________________________________________ On 06/24/2011 06:15 PM, Brian Bernard wrote:
Hello,I'm having problems trying to run Nmap2 and Garp on Fedora 15. They receive a segmentation fault when the programs are run. The error I receive is "Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.0x00000033e4246b72 in vfprintf () from /lib64/libc.so.6". I have attached the results of running gdb for your perusal.Anyone have any experience with this error, and if so, know what the remedy is?Regards, Brian Bernard _______________________________________________ gembud mailing list gembud@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx For list information or to unsubscribe, visit: http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/mailing_lists/
