I downgraded back to GEMPAK6.2.0 where things work just fine From: Mark Tucker [mailto:mht06220@xxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Friday, January 13, 2012 06:48 AM To: gembud@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx <gembud@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: Re: [gembud] GEMPAK6.4.0 _gf programs XQueryColors error I'm getting a very similar error with most of our gempak scripts. Gempak 6.4.0 running on CentOS 6.2 (x86-64). The script is running on an Xvfb display. Below is the error message I get when running gdplot2, gpmap, etc: X Error of failed request: BadName (named color or font does not exist) Major opcode of failed request: 45 (X_OpenFont) Serial number of failed request: 72 Current serial number in output stream: 1578 I've done a ton of searching and haven't found any resolution yet. I am also sending along the results of `xdpyinfo` and `freeColors`. All of this is being sent as a tar.gz file. Here is an example of how you would run the shell script.. Syntax: nturb_graygif [dir] [garea] [proj] [device] [gemfile] F[time] [level] /usr/local/tcl/plotplans/uv/nturb_graygif /tmp 39.5935\;0.5402\;51.8207\;23.110 str/46.2593\;10.5704\;0/nm gf\|turbtst.gif\|800\;600 /product/grendel/chartdata/drvd.gem F6 850 I saw X_QueryColors error mentioned in a 2005 support message, but it had no resolution (http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/support/help/MailArchives/gempak/msg03926.html) GEMPAK6.4.0 is running on RHEL5.7 i386 Help would be very appreciated Thanks.
