Hi Bill, If you haven't already, check to be sure that SELinux is not enabled on your system, to rule out that as a problem. On Redhat/Centos, this can be found in /etc/sysconfig/selinux. Modify the line that starts with SELINUX so that is set to "disabled". Then reboot the system. --Kevin _____________________________________________ Kevin Tyle, Systems Administrator Dept. of Atmospheric & Environmental Sciences University at Albany Earth Science 235, 1400 Washington Avenue Albany, NY 12222 Email: ktyle@xxxxxxxxxx Phone: 518-442-4578 _____________________________________________ -----Original Message----- From: gembud-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:gembud-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Capehart, William J Sent: Monday, June 04, 2012 2:38 PM To: gembud@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: [gembud] GEMPAK 6.6.0 Segmentation Faults (Mandriva 2011.0 64-bit) Hi All I've tried compiling OM 2.3.3 and 2.3.1 from source and have also tried the Mandriva builds generously offered by James Murakami (rebuilding and testing after each) and unfortunately I am still coming up seg faults. In "gdb-ing" garp, nmap2 and nwx, I'm getting the following output -- all of them are hanging on the following: 0x00007ffff5a2bc50 in __parse_one_specmb () from /lib64/libc.so.6 (which is greek to me and my people here.) Any further ideas? We run Gempak6.6.0 on workstations running on Mandriva 2010.2(64 bit), and I haven't seen the segmentation errors you describe. Garp does crash when you try opening NIDS data or you clear/reset some graphics, which have station overlays. However, since Garp isn't supported anymore, and you can do similar things using Nmap, it's no big deal for us.
