Finally was able to get this done ...
removed openMotiff installed by yum, and reinstalled by source package

    Title essentially says it all
    I have identical servers EXCEPT the OS,
    one being CentOS 6.3 and the other REH 6.3 both 64 bit

    they both run 4 chip quad core i5's
    for the life of me, I have tried several times GEMPAK will not install

    I sent out the make and make install log's last Saturday
    I didn't see anything glaring in the logs ..
    any help would be appreciated
