Hi Ethan,

What problem(s) is (are) you specifically having with this step?  Are you 
getting error messages, or is the installation just taking a really long time 
(it will for the gcc compiler registration)?

Did you install Xcode?

Hi,
I am trying to download the GEMPAK software on a mac OSX lion. I have been 
following your online tutorial and am having trouble with step 2a which is 
installing gcc45 on macports. I am not great with computers so is their any way 
for you to explain how to do this in simple terms.
