Sites feeding from idd.unidata.ucar.edu: Tomorrow, Wednesday, August 21, at 20 UTC we will be switching the DNS for our primary top level IDD relay cluster, idd.unidata.ucar.edu - 128.117.140.3, from machines housed in UCAR computing facilities in Boulder, CO to a new, more robust cluster that is housed in the NCAR Wyoming Supercomputing Center (NWSC) in Cheyenne, Wy. The new cluster's IP address will be 128.117.135.3. Important Notes: The switching of the DNS should _not_ affect existing feeds, so sites currently receiving feeds from idd.unidata.ucar.edu should not experience any interruption in service. End users may need to work with campus/organization networking staff to adjust local firewall settings to allow for feeds from the new cluster. After the DNS change has propagated (a process that should occur after an hour or so, but could take as long as a week), sites will need to restart all LDM instances that are REQUESTing IDD feeds from idd.unidata.ucar.edu to force their systems to disconnect from the old IP address, read the new IP address, and connect to the new cluster. Please confirm that the DNS change has occurred by verifying that 'nslookup idd.unidata.ucar.edu' returns the new IP address, 128.117.135.3, before restarting your LDM(s). Please contact Unidata IDD Support (support-idd@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx) with any questions/comments/concerns.
