Prezado Waldenio,

Consegui resolver o  hostname e o ldmping já responde. 
O ldmadmin watch e o tail não respondem. 

Outra dúvida. Instalei o LDM 6.11.6.

O gempak 
GEMPAK_INPE_3.0 2014-03-07 GEMPAK6.10_INPE.tar 254260 UNIX 
 
disponível no portal gadm é um binário ou preciso compilar.?? E ele já contem o 
ldm???

Normalmente o hostname ? o nome de sua m?quina, pelo e-mail est? dificil 
saber o que est? errado... Tente "gempak.uema.br"

ap?s resolver o hostname vc deve iniciar o LDM, acho que ele n?o est? 
ativo, por isso o ldmping n?o funciona.
