I tried to install idv2.0 via webstart on Linux, FC3 and FC5. In both cases, the viewer screens remains blank. When using the IDV-installer, idv runs without problems.
What version of Java is WebStart using? You can find out by using following link which will bring up the Web Start Manager: http://java.sun.com/products/javawebstart/apps/player.jnlp Use the Edit->Preferences menu to bring up the Preferences manager and click on the Java tab. Depending on the version of Web Start, you will see a list of the Java versions that Web Start is trying to use, or you'll need to click on the View button under Java Application Runtime Settings (in 1.5) to bring up the list. Also, if you are running Java Webstart from Java 1.5, you could find the Java 3D Optional Package in the Cache Viewer and delete that and try again.
