I tried nightly bulid and works ok with Europe projection. But the world
map still has problems. See attached

Hi Ian-

Thanks for sharing this with the group.  This will be good for those who
want to subset the gridded datasets.

Now that I'm back from holiday, I've had a chance to work on the IDV 
side of this issue of the gap when the last grid point does not overlap
the first.  I just put out a new nightly build (2.5a1) that extends the
grid if need be so there is no longer a gap at the edge.  If anyone
wants to test that for me, I'd welcome feedback.  You can download the
latest nightly build from:

http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/downloads/idv

I've tested with the Global 2.5, 1.0 and .5 degree grids on our UCAR
server.
