[idvusers] NPP/VIIRS netCDF in viewer?

I attempted to view the new NPP/VIIRS data in IDV (3.1) - went through Data Selector, and selected the netCDF file; it then gave me an error and asked if I want to select a different type to try to open, so I selected "netCDF Files". It returned the same error.
What would be the proper way to view the NPP/VIIRS data? Or is it not supported?
