If SSEC is creating this jython functionality, it would be good if they
would contribute it back into the core IDV along with documentation so
the general IDV community could benefit.
That said, I find ISL pretty easy to use. I don't have to worry about indentation. ;-)

Our programmers have been very busy creating handy utility routines for doing more data reading, manipulation and display. And Don had already provided a very rich set of "gempak-like" functions for computing derived parameters on grids, plus many interfaces to core library (Java, IDV and VisAD) routines. In addition, the interactive Jython shell provides great opportunities to experiment and learn... tom
