Hi Kim- On 4/4/14 5:21 AM, Kim Serradell wrote:Hello I was wondering if it's possible to use IDV to visualize HYSPLIT model trajectories files (http://ready.arl.noaa.gov/HYSPLIT.php). Does anyone heard it or seen it ¿? Thank you !There are a couple of ways you could do this. If you save the output as a KMZ file, you can display that in the IDV. You could also download the trajectory endpoints file and load that in as a text point trajectory file. You'd need to modify the file to add in the appropriate metadata so the IDV would be able to read that: http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/software/idv/docs/userguide/data/TextPointData.html You can also use the new trajectory calculation code to have the IDV do the calculations itself. I couldn't find any documentation on that, so perhaps someone from Unidata will chime in.
Here is the information of trajectory calculation: http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/software/idv/docs/workshop/datadisplays/grid/GridTrajectoryDisplay.html Yuan
