This may be an oversight on NWS's end. The AWIPS AVN grids are out to 120 hours but not the thinned grids. Remember, the thinned grids were not part of NOAAPORT initially but were added at the request of the user community. Considering the amount of additional data the thinned grids to 120 hrs will add (roughly 20MB), there might be a bandwidth/networking issue. ________________________________________________________ Daniel Vietor Mail: devo@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Unisys Corp Title: Engineer/Meteorologist 221 Gale Lane Phone: 610-925-5206 Kennett Square PA 19348 Fax: 610-925-5215 > -----Original Message----- > From: owner-ldm-users@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx > [mailto:owner-ldm-users@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of Jeff Masters > Sent: Friday, June 08, 2001 5:11 PM > To: ldm-users@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx > Subject: AVN data out to 5 days? > > > > The AVN model is being run out to 5 days now (you can ftp it from > ftp://ftp.ncep.noaa.gov/pub/data1/avn), but as far as I can > tell, we are > only getting data out to 72 hours over NOAAPORT on the thinned grids > covering the whole globe.
