I was able to ping SSEC from a host on a completely
different network so they do appear to be up, however I can't reach
them from on campus here.  I reported it to our netops people and
they are tracking the problem. Apparently some kind of routing issue
between here and there.

Yes, we noticed that too.

We are presently unable to connect to SSEC:

Oct 15 16:27:57 squall unidata[19784]: FEEDME(unidata.ssec.wisc.edu): can't contact portmapper: RPC: Timed out

I can't even reach the main UW-Madison web page. I don't know if this is a networking problem between here and there or a problem at their end.
