LDM users, A reiteration of the message below with some subtle additions. Anyone who had "hard wired" a secondary feed from thelma from IP: 192.43.244.21 must change to 192.52.106.21 Thelma has had an upgrade and location change, this hopefully was transparent to our downstream sites. The transition has occurred and the plagued thelma has been upgraded to an E450 (motherlode type machine) and should perform nicely through the powerdown tomorrow from 00:00 MST to 20:00 MST. At this point in time NOBODY should be feeding from motherlode or shemp nor should they failover to motherlode or shemp. All others who were feeding from thelma should see no change. Thank you all for your cooperation, patience, and understanding during this hardware nightmare. Please re-read message below if not clear on the status of the powerdown. -Jeff ____________________________ _____________________ Jeff Weber jweber@xxxxxxxx Unidata Support PH:303-497-8676 NWS-COMET Case Study Library FX:303-497-8690 University Corp for Atmospheric Research 3300 Mitchell Ln http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/staff/jweber Boulder,Co 80307-3000 ________________________________________ ______________________ ---------- Forwarded message ---------- Cc: ldm-support <support-ldm@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> LDM users, This Saturday, April 6th, the NCAR/UCAR powerdown will be taking place. At this time we expect brief outages on thelma, and a much longer downtime for motherlode as it will be moving to a new physical location. Our eventual plan is to have motherlode as the "acting" and "filing" machine and thelma will be the "relay" machine. All sites who are currently feeding from motherlode OR shemp should return to thelma at your earliest convenience. We hope most people will transition over today, and the remainder tomorrow. This will, hopefully, allow time to smooth out any connectivity issues before the spring power down this Sat. The scheduled time for this event is 00:00 MST to 20:00 MST 6 April, but as mentioned earlier, we expect thelma to be down for at most 20-30 minutes, but motherlode could be down for the duration. After this point in time nobody should be using motherlode OR shemp as their upstream host, and all that have been using motherlode OR shemp should now point their requests to: thelma.ucar.edu IP = 192.52.106.21 Please respond with any questions you may have. Thank you, -Jeff ____________________________ _____________________ Jeff Weber jweber@xxxxxxxx Unidata Support PH:303-497-8676 NWS-COMET Case Study Library FX:303-497-8690 University Corp for Atmospheric Research 3300 Mitchell Ln http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/staff/jweber Boulder,Co 80307-3000 ________________________________________ ______________________
