One more thing.

It's not just gcc that has bugs, but the libraries are a little messed up 
as well. I had to shut off McIDAS-XCD ingesting this morning because the 
synoptic decoder kept hanging and pushed my load way up. Ditto for 
proftomd, so I just said nuts to that and killed it. I will be watching 
closely for a gcc patch soon.
