Apparently your NWS guys don't realize that WSI products are available to the public. I have more theories but they aren't appropriate to dicsuss here. -----Original Message----- Sent: Friday, November 01, 2002 1:39 PM Cc: 'Frost, Mr. Michael'; 'ldm-users@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx' On Fri, 1 Nov 2002, Robert Mullenax wrote: > Unfortunately this is not available, and it is also not available > via FTP. Robert, Meteorologists at my local WFO and others have told me that it would lead to false interpretation by the general public, so it's not on there. That, and bandwidth considerations. The former excuse is funny, because the major radar vendors slap it on their products. The latter is too, because the NOAAPort feed is so fast now, they had to temporarily slow the feed down. They have more than enough bandwidth to handle it. So...maybe we can put in a request to add it? **************************************************************************** *** Gilbert Sebenste ******** Internet: gilbert@xxxxxxx (My opinions only!) ****** Staff Meteorologist, Northern Illinois University **** E-mail: sebenste@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx *** web: http://weather.admin.niu.edu ** Work phone: 815-753-5492 * **************************************************************************** ***
