Yes, there is a maneuver today: Topic: GOES-8 East West Maneuver January 21, 2003 Message Issued: January 21, 2003, 1215 UTC Satellites Impacted: GOES-8 and GOES-10 Products Impacted: GOES-8 Imager and Sounder Data and GOES-8 Imager Data Date/Time of Initial Impact: January 21, 2003 1134 UTC -------------------------- Details: A GOES-8 East-West Station Keeping maneuver will be performed on Tuesday, January 21, 2003 at 1820 UTC. For National Weather Service operations: The backup date, and last window of opportunity (final date) for this maneuver is Thursday, January 23, 2003. If the NWS regions have any operational concerns, please contact the NCEP SDM (301-763-8298) at least 6.5 hours prior to the maneuver time. On January 21, the following exclusive schedule will be employed to support maneuver operations: (*PLEASE NOTE the scheduled GOES-10 Full Disk scan period to support the primary GOES-8 outage during the maneuver.*) Maneuver Schedule starts at 1134 UTC on January 21, 2003. Southern Hemisphere scan at 1139 UTC is canceled. From 1145 UTC through 1714 UTC -- GOES-8 Routine Imaging and Soundings From 1715 UTC through 1814 UTC -- GOES-8 Full Disk Imaging with Soundings *From 1815 UTC through 1944 UTC -- No GOES-8 Imaging or Soundings* **From 1800 UTC through 1959 UTC -- GOES-10 Full Disk Imaging** From 1945 UTC through 0214 UTC (January 22) -- GOES-8 Post Maneuver Recovery Including: Abbreviated Full Disk Images (19 minute scan) at XX45 Northern Hemisphere Extended Images at XX15 CONUS Soundings at XX46 0215 UTC January 22 -- GOES-8 Routine Scan Operations Resume Expect GOES-8 imager and sounder gridding offsets for up to 6 hours following the maneuver.
