As of the 15 UTC Antarctic composite image, the AMRC is now including GOES-9 imagery in these composite images (see: http://ice.ssec.wisc.edu/amrc/realcomp.html) - both infrared and water vapor. GOES-9 is currently being loaned by NOAA/NESDIS to Japan/JMA and positioned to replace GMS-5 satellite starting offically in May. AMRC will include appropriate GOES-9 imagery as it is available for inclusion in Antarctic composite imagery.
