This server is running Red Hat 9. The above messages means that the LDM attempted to contact the portmapper on the local system but that the connection was refused by the portmapper. Apparently, you have a portmapper running but it won't talk to anyone. That's a little odd. The LDM is designed to use the portmapper if one is available. If not, then the LDM will, nevertheless, continue to work. Regards, Steve Emmerson
