Hello All: Sorry I have not been keeping everyone posted with information regarding the FNMOC LDM feed. I wish I had better news. The old server hardware crashed and it is not feasible to resuscitate the system. New hardware already exists and is in the process of being deployed. This has proven to be more problematic than expected due to IT security concerns. The good news, these concerns have been addressed and work is proceeding. At this time, I hesitate to give a firm deadline. Our official transition date for the new servers is September 1, but I am hoping we can get LDM disseminating data from the new servers within a couple of weeks. In the meantime, the only fallback is the ftp site at usgodae2.usgodae.org:pub/outgoing/fnmoc/models ... though after Bob's e-mail (below), I see that is having a problem at the moment too. I will try to get that fixed. I am very sorry for the inconvenience. Phil Sharfenstein had set us up with a feed via LDM years ago from usgodae3.fnmoc.navy.mil but it hasn't worked in quite a while. request FNMOC "^US058GMET-GR1mdl.0058_0240.*" usgodae3.fnmoc.navy.mil request FNMOC "^US058GOCN-GR1mdl.0110_0240.*" usgodae3.fnmoc.navy.mil The last couple days, we have not been able to get nogaps data and are getting an error message about too many anonymous connections on the ftp server. We really value your data especially for the swell forecasts and our forecasters really miss it when we aren't able to download it. Thanks for your help! I am sorry that the LDM feed has not been more reliable lately. Between personnel turnover and hardware issues (old hardware failing, new hardware still being prepared) we have experienced a sort of "perfect storm". I am still hoping we can revive the old hardware in the next day or so as a stop-gap until the new hardware can be brought online. If we do not get the old hardware back up, the new system is still about two weeks from being ready. I will keep this list updated on the progress.
