Hi fellow LDM users.. I wanted to send out an email to see if there is interest within the community, to develop reciprocal LDM data peering group. My company which has a NOAAPORT Unidata based receive system works very well and I have been fortunate to have a couple of education institutions willing to provide backup feeds if I lose my primary NOAAPORT receive system. I growing number of LDM users are commercial entities that do not have peering arrangements for backup feeds. I will be moving our servers to a 1Gb bandwidth pipe later this month and will be in a position to provide LDM NOAAPORT feeds to users who need a backup feed. In turn, would like to be in a position to feed from them if I have an outage. I think it would be a good idea for those members that do not have multiple NOAAPORT IDD feeds sources to collectively cooperate to provide primary or backup feeds to one another. Again, I will be in a position later this month with the unmetered 1Gb bandwidth to help feed others. If anyone is interested in joining a cooperative reciprocal peering arrangement let me know.
