Dear LDM user, Version 6.11.3 of the LDM is now available: Announcement: <http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/blogs/news/entry/ldm_6_11_3_released> Version Homepage: <http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/software/ldm/ldm-6.11.3/> LDM Homepage: <http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/software/ldm/> Download Homepage: <http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/downloads/ldm> FTP access: <ftp://ftp.unidata.ucar.edu/pub/ldm/ldm-6.11.3.tar.gz> GitHub Project: <https://github.com/Unidata/LDM> This version improves on the anti-denial-of-service capability introduced in version 6.11. It also contains a complementary capability of ensuring that a downstream LDM doesn't make wasteful (i.e., overlapping) requests for data from the same upstream LDM. This version has been ported to as many different Unix variants and environments as exist at the Unidata Program Center. Unfortunately, this means only certain versions of SunOS, Linux (Fedora and CentOS), and Darwin (alias Mac OS/X). Gone are the days of IRIX, HP-UX, OSF/1, ... (sigh/yipee! :-). You are strongly encouraged to read the CHANGE_LOG file in the top-level source-directory of the distribution. An upstream version 6.11 LDM does have a "problem" with requests from downstream LDM-s that are hidden behind a Network Translation Table (NAT) device. Because the requests appear to come from the same downstream IP address (that of the NAT device), the upstream LDM will attempt to minimize any overlap in the requests -- which is probably not what the downstream site wants. The solution is to have only one, "gateway" downstream LDM request all the data and have the other downstream LDM-s request the subset of data in which they're interested from the gateway LDM. Contact <support-ldm@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> if this solution won't work for you or if you have any other questions. Regards, Steve Emmerson LDM Developer
