I have scoured the mailing lists for answers, so I appreciate it anyone has ideas here... * Running Gempak 7.1.1 + LDM 6.12.6 on a Debian 3.2.63 machine. Machine was wiped with new OS installed last week. * Both programs were installed from source on the machine in the past few days. Make.out files show no obvious errors. * LDM w/ noaaport is running and ingesting data just fine. Using the default pqact.gempak that came with Gempak. * PROBLEM: Some of the decoders are failing. Log entries look like this: Nov 27 08:30:36 Einstein pqact[3531] ERROR: child 3714 exited with status 2 (PIPE dcwstm -d data/gempak/logs/dcwstm.log -e GEMTBL=/home/gempak/GEMPAK7/gempak/tables data/gempak/storm/wstm/YYYYMMDDHH.wstm) Nov 27 08:30:36 Einstein pqact[3531] ERROR: [filel.c:305] Deleting failed PIPE entry: pid=3714, cmd="dcwstm -d data/gempak/logs/dcwstm.log -e GEMTBL=/home/gempak/GEMPAK7/gempak/tables data/gempak/storm/wstm/YYYYMMDDHH.wstm" Nov 27 08:40:05 Einstein pqact[3531] ERROR: child 3719 exited with status 2 (PIPE dcisig -e GEMTBL=/home/gempak/GEMPAK7/gempak/tables -d data/gempak/logs/dcisig.log data/gempak/isig/YYYYMMDDHH_isig.gem) Nov 27 08:40:05 Einstein pqact[3531] ERROR: [filel.c:305] Deleting failed PIPE entry: pid=3719, cmd="dcisig -e GEMTBL=/home/gempak/GEMPAK7/gempak/tables -d data/gempak/logs/dcisig.log data/gempak/isig/YYYYMMDDHH_isig.gem" Nov 27 08:45:29 Einstein pqact[3531] ERROR: child 3740 exited with status 2 (PIPE dcairm -d data/gempak/logs/dcairm.log -e GEMTBL=/home/gempak/GEMPAK7/gempak/tables data/gempak/airm/YYYYMMDDHH_airm.gem) Nov 27 08:45:29 Einstein pqact[3531] ERROR: [filel.c:305] Deleting failed PIPE entry: pid=3740, cmd="dcairm -d data/gempak/logs/dcairm.log -e GEMTBL=/home/gempak/GEMPAK7/gempak/tables data/gempak/airm/YYYYMMDDHH_airm.gem" * Other decoders such as dcgrib2, dcmetr, dcuair are performing just fine. * I run a second server with identical hardware, but older OS (Debian 2.6.32) and older Gempak (6.4.0). Newer LDM (6.12.6) is installed. That machine runs all decoders fine. * If I copy executables from other machine (LDM bin, or Gempak decoders, or both) I get no change. * I attempted to compile Gempak with standard make file, and with the Ubuntu version. No change. * I am beginning to suspect the newer OS, or perhaps one of the libraries. Just not sure which one would cause these symptoms. Thanks for any help. John H
