How does the Norsat 8515 compare to the Norsat 3120 or 3420? Seems like they provide better LO stability, but not better noise temperature. But the 3120 and 3420 seem to be significantly more expensive. I'm using an 8515 paired with a 7.5 ft dish. We have one at AllisonHouse, and I like it. But the absolute cream of the crop is the Norsat 3420. It offers 2 dB higher gain and a somewhat lower noise figure than the 3120. That said, it's more expensive than the 3120. SSEC used to have an old analog LNA/LNB for their massive dish to receive NOAAport. The day they swapped it out for a Norsat 3420, they got a jaw-dropping 17 dB gain. Their reception before the switch was awful. Now, it's fantastic. As long as you aren't in a very difficult or hostile reception environment, the 3120 will serve you very well for many years.
