Re: [ldm-users] Need a feed

You might be slightly confused here.  Dynamic DNS really only does forward
(A/AAAA) records.  It doesn't do the PTR (in-addr.arpa) addresses unless
you are the one who is the manager for that subnet.  So DynDNS services
only handle the forward, not the reverse.  It looks like stratusiq owns
that IP.  I just did a 'dig +trace -x ___IP___' and it comes up with the
authoritative records are on ns1.stratusiq.com and ns2.stratusiq.com.  So
unless the dynamic dns service controls those servers setting up a DDNS
wont work for the requester.  It works for the "server" A/AAAA records but
the "requestor" relies on PTR (in-addr.arpa) addresses as the server will
only see an IP address, then do a lookup on that IP and comeback with
209-248-66-35.falconbroadband.net. for example on the 209.248.66.35 address .

# host 209.248.66.35
35.66.248.209.in-addr.arpa domain name pointer
209-248-66-35.falconbroadband.net.
