This is what I use.  Probably overkill on the date/time string testing.

NEXRD2
 
^L2-([^/]*)/(....)/([0-9][0-9][0-9][0-9][0-1][0-9][0-3][0-9][0-2][0-9][0-5][0-9][0-9][0-9])(.*)/(S|I|E)/
        FILE    /data/realtime/fetched/nexradII/\2/\3.ldm

It concatenates to the file until it's complete.
