Quincey, > How are you planning on presenting the objects in the order they were > created? By giving them HDF5 names such as "_ncvar_0000", "_ncvar_0001", ..., where the number is the "netCDF ID", which is assigned in the order in which the variables were created. The netCDF name is stored as an attribute. We'll post a URL for the draft of the document describing our proposed mapping for the netCDF-3/HDF5 library soon (maybe this afternoon). --Russ
