John,We've been converting some geospatial data to HDF-EOS 5, which uses HDF5, and generic HDF5. They're converted from DOQ, DEM and ESRI Shapefiles. They're at ftp://hdf.ncsa.uiuc.edu/pub/outgoing/vchoi
