Hi Christopher:

NetCDF -> Opendap is done by the TDS opendap server, in the 
thredds.server.opendap package
Opendap -> NetCDF is done by the CDM library classes in the ucar.nc2.dods 
package.

Obviously, these are in the context of client/server subsetting, im not sure if 
you are doing something else.

The goal is to break a netcdf file into three streams (DAS, DDS, and DODS) and then reconstitute them as a NetCDF file. This surprises me a little as it seems like this (the reconstruction) would be easier than the "deconstruction"...

Is it possible to do this?  Any help/advice would be most appreciated.
