yes, and the python.org build, which is built with the MS compilers, and the MSVCRT dlls.
I think the above would be a show-stopper.
yup.However, I have rad (but not tried) that it is now possible to build python extensions with cygwin that can be used with the standard python build, so there may be ways to do it.
I suspect that minGW is an easier route, however. Or the MS compilers, of course.
It looks like there are binaries of libcurl on its website, so that part may not be a problem.
