subsampling with HyperRead

Hi,
 For future releases of NetCDF it would be nice if the NCVARGET
function supported subsampling of the data block. I am a convert
from the Goddard CDFv2 and truly miss that one feature that CDFv2
provided. Are there plans for such a feature in the future? I
hope so...
