netCDF under WATCOM 9.0?

Has anyone compiled the netCDF 2.3 using the
Watcom 9.0 C compiler (with DOS4GW extender)? 

We are having problems getting CDFTEST to work
and would appreciate any code changes or Makefile flags
that shed some light!
