It seems I missed the section on error handling.  I apologize for
wasting everyone's time.  I would like to say thank you to Peter Neelin
and Andrew Sundelin for their quick response.

Also, I would like to clarify that I am in no way critical of the
authors of this package.  They have done a wonderful job of developing a
universal standard for treating data.
