Re: deleting dimensions and variables

In case you don't know about NCO, most of the NCO operators will
delete variables from existing netCDF files with, e.g.,

ncks -x -v var1,var2 in.nc out.nc

When all the variables containing a given dimension have been deleted,
the above command automatically deletes the dimension as well.
