ncrcat with time and differing origins

Hi all

I'm having difficulties using NCO's ncrcat utility to concatenate a
series of netcdf files with the following properties:

1- Record variable is 'time'
2- One record per file
3- Value of "time" variable is '0.0' for each file.
4- Each file's origin for the time variable is different.

I presume the problem is with point 4, and that ncrcat does not
interpret the 'time' variable with respect to the respective origins and
magically create a file with one time origin with correct time values.

How can I get what I want using NCO (or some other) utilities?

Thanks for any tips.
