Where to begin? First off, this might have been more approriately directed to
the GRADSUSR mailing list. Details for joining at:

In any case, it's really hard to diagnose this problem without the exact
error messages from GrADS, and the output from running "ncdump -v time" on
your file. I'm beginning to suspect, since you didn't share a code snippet
that did it, that you actually didn't write out the time coordinate values.
