Problem with add_offset and scale_factor

Hi all,

I'm a beginner with NetCDF and NCO.
I have several files 1990.nc, 1991.nc ..., each of them containing annual
data jan, feb, ..., dec. I want to calculate the climatology, but using
ncea gives me a file with something that is not the arithmetic mean of the
individual files.
After some inquiries, I think this is due to the fact that each input file
(variable type is short) as a different add_offset and scale_factor.
Using ncea seems to attribute to the ouput file the add_offset and
scale_factor of the first input file.

Does anybody know how I can proceed to get the correct climatology ? Is it
possible with ncap ? How should I use it ?

Thank you very much for any help !
All the best
Laurent
