Is anyone has already use a GIS with netcdf files ?
Googling on "gis mapinfo netcdf" turns up several other software
packages that might be relevant for use with MapInfo.

A couple of untested options.

1. I think the NDFD Decoder can go from NetCDF to traditional GIS formats.

2. Frank Warmerdam's GDAL/OGR is the swiss army knife of GIS formats

It is always a good idea to bother your ESRI sales rep and ask about NetCDF support as well. Make sure the company knows that the demand exists out there.
