Jacob, thanks for the reply. I ran the 'make install' command and here is a list of files installed in /usr/local:/usr/local/include:netcdf.h, netcdfcpp.h, ncvalues.h, netcdf.hh, netcdf.inc, netcdf.mod, typesizes.mod./usr/local/lib:libnetcdf.a, libnetcdf.la, libnetcdf_c++.a, libnetcdf_c++.la/usr/local/binncdump, ncgen. Subject: RE: [netcdfgroup] No libnetcdff.a installed in /usr/local/libDate: Fri, 4 Apr 2008 21:14:02 -0500From: Jacob.Sheck@dtn.comTo: yulq@xxxxxxx If you look at the file called “INSTALL” in the build directory you will find this paragraph The configure script will try to find necessary tools in your path. When you run configure you may optionally use the -prefix argument to change the default installation directory. For example, the following will install the library in /usr/local/lib, the header file in /usr/local/include, and the utilities in /usr/local/bin. ./configure --prefix=/usr/local The default install root is /usr/local (so there's no need to use the prefix argument if you want the software installed there). Your files are probably installed in /usr/local I believe Centos is similar to Fedora and Redhat in that it uses the path as /usr/lib. Please be sure to verify this on your system. Following the link (http://support.intel.com/support/performancetools/sb/CS-027812.htm), there's no problem in the build process but when I check the files installed in /usr/local/lib, I find there is no libnetcdff.a there (libnetcdf.a and libnetcdf_c++.a are there). However, there is a libnetcdff.a under /var/tmp/netcdf-3.6.2/fortran/.libs. What is wrong with my build process, thanks.
