Howdy NetCDF Users! Those who have been patiently waiting for a Windows build of netCDF-4 will be happy to learn that the latest netCDF snapshot can now be build under VC++ 2008. As yet only the netCDF core C library (the netcdf project) and the nc_test test program (the nc_test project) are working in the solution file. I'm still working on the utilities and other test programs. Get the snapshot here: ftp://ftp.unidata.ucar.edu/pub/netcdf/snapshot/netcdf-4-daily.tar.gz Go to the win32/NET sub-directory and open the Visual Studio solution file; build the netcdf and nc_test projects. (Only debug builds have been tested, not yet release builds.) This requires the HDF5 1.8.1 DLL, the szlib and zlib DLLs, and all their accompanying header files in a C:\include directory. (Though this location can be changed in the properties of the netcdf project). Most windows users should wait until further work takes place, but hard-core coders may wish to start working with the netCDF-4 DLL now, and can do so by downloading the snapshot and building it.
